EMMIS COMMUNICATIONS
In the summer of 2018, Rob moved to Indianapolis and accepted a job with Emmis Communications.
He started as a member of the promotions team for 1070 The Fan, 97.1 HANK-FM, 93.1 WIBC, and B105.7.
Within the first couple of months with the company, Rob was promoted to be the daily afternoon sports anchor for Network Indiana, which has more than 40 affiliate stations across the state.
In April 2019, Rob received a full-time job as a news anchor/reporter for WIBC and Network Indiana. He held that position for nearly three years -- writing and voicing stories, along with anchoring afternoon newscasts. He would occasionally fill-in as the morning or evening drive-time anchor.
For more than two years, Rob also did on-air scoreboard updates on the network's "Indiana Sports Talk," which has been on-the-air for more than 25 years with Hall-of-Famer Bob Lovell as host. It reaches hundreds of thousands of Hoosiers on any given Friday night during the high school football and basketball seasons. A handful of times, Rob was asked to be a guest host of the show.
In November 2019, Rob received the opportunity to be a member of the Indiana High School Athletic Association's Champions Radio Network, as the sideline reporter for the statewide broadcast of the Class 6A Football State Championship at Lucas Oil Stadium. He then returned to be the sideline reporter for the Class 4A and 6A broadcasts in 2020, and was again on the sidelines for the 2A and 4A state championships in 2021.
In May 2020, Rob was a member of WIBC's live coverage of the downtown Indianapolis "Black Lives Matter" protests and riots, reporting from the streets, in the middle of tear gas, smoke bombs, gun shots and dumpster fires. The team's coverage would go on to win multiple first-place awards, at the state and national levels.
