During his four years at Ball State, Rob was a member of 91.3 WCRD, Ball State's student-run radio station. As a freshman, he was a board op for Ball State sports broadcasts and a member of the station's production team, where he voiced commercials and promos. In his sophomore year, he created "The Press Box," a sports show that covered high school sports around the Hoosier state, interviewing coaches, players, and other media members. As a junior, Rob became the radio play-by-play broadcaster for the Ball State women's volleyball team. In his senior year, he continued to bring play-by-play action for Ball State volleyball, along with being a sports anchor for the "Live at 5" newscast.
